  • National Memorial Arboretum

    Children had 2 special days at the National Memorial Arboretum this week, KS1 on Monday and KS2 on Wednesday. Children had the opportunity to explore differing memorials, have an act of remembrance and explore the differing roles during the war. They were wonderful days and the team at the arboretum were complimentary about our children’s behaviour. An excellent day to add to the work we are doing to commemorate the anniversary of 100 years since the end of WW!.

  • Reception and KS1 visit the Arboretum

    Reception and Key Stage 1 had a wonderful visit to the arboretum to learn more about World War 1 and the Armistice. We were lucky enough to visit on a beautiful Autumn day and learnt all about the roles of men and women during the war.

  • Mindfulness KS1

    EYFS and KS1 children enjoyed a beautiful mindfulness workshop with our educational psychologists. The purpose of having this session is to begin to equip our children with skills to develop awareness of their   inner and outer experiences, to understand how emotions manifest in their bodies and to recognise when their attention has wandered. This will subsequently provide children with tools to self-regulate their behaviour. Our staff were fully involved in the session in order to develop their knowledge of              approaches to promote positive mental well-being in children. This adds to some of the work we have       already completed and forms part of our school improvement plan with all sort of bookings and                 developments across the year. Children particularly enjoyed the activity with their teddies

  • Year 1 and 2 Bhangra Dancing

    Published 14/10/18

    Year 1 and 2 loved their Bhangra dancing session at John Taylor High school on Thursday afternoon. They, along with 3 other schools, learned some quite tricky moves to the beat of a dhol drum.

  • Gift Day - 150 Years All Saints Church

    On Saturday 13 October this year we held a "Gift Day" for Rangemore Church.

    At the time of writing (16 October) donations totalled in the region of £850.

     

    May I thank everyone for their great support and also give thanks to those who worked in the church to make the day possible.

     

    Also, a huge thank you to the Executive Headteacher, Mrs. Gethin and the Headteacher, Mrs. Jones for coming along and also the schoolchildren who came (on a Saturday morning) and sang so beautifully as a choir. 

     

    Finally, thank you to Arthur for coming to play the organ and the bell ringers for ringing.

  • YMCA Food Bank Donations

    We took food donations from across the federation to the local YMCA foodbank. We thank our families for their generous donations. It was great that children got to see where our donations went and to learn that they helped families in need.

  • Dove Valley Football

    We are so proud of our football team, they played so well and only let one goal in the whole tournament!
    The children got through to the final and although they didn't win, they were most worthy runners up.  Well done.

  • Harvest and Thanksgiving

    Harvest was really beautiful. We thank all of our families for their generous donations which will be distributed around the local elderly neighbours and YMCA food bank – four children from across the federation will have the opportunity to go with us to the YMCA to deliver the harvest gifts.
