Celebrating the Queen's 90th Birthday and unveilling of Rangemore's New Sign

We have had a privileged day celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday, children planted red, white and blue planters donated by Parish councillor Di Milner for the village, they had a beautiful worship considering the Queen as the Head of the Church of England and our monarch and her amazing life of service. Each class undertook excellent  activities considering the Queen’s role and her life.  Additionally, children had a
wonderful celebratory lunch with thanks to our kitchen staff. Finally, we were blessed with a sunny day for the unveiling of Rangemore’s new sign— originally made by Norman Nicol, a local historian to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II. It is fitting then that it is re-sited on her 90th birthday. The sign was re-furbished by Philip Walton of Burton on Trent.  We were thrilled to be joined by Mayor David Lees, East Staffs Borough Councillors Jaqui Jones and Julia Jessel and the Parish councillors, Jane Bristow, John Fawn, Di Milner and Helena Pointer.  Children enjoyed singing the National Anthem, another worship song and presenting readings from the bible and prayers.  The beacon lighting in the evening was a special opportunity to end a precious day
